Woah. College kind of just hit me. One minute I graduated, the next minute I went to my first college class. I won’t lie, I still feel like a 12 year old on the inside.
Let me do a ‘first weekend at college’ recap for you. I moved into my cottage (yes, I live in a COTTAGE), on a Thursday. That day I met my roommate, met so many new people (that I have to put where I met them next to their name in my phone contacts), ate good food, and slept in my new home. On Friday, the rest of our cottage moved in, so guess what? I met even more people. Woohoo!! No really, that isn’t even sarcastic, I really enjoy meeting new people. I spent the day getting out room ready, and taking a trip to Target for those last minute items my roommate and I decided we couldn’t live without. Later that night we had dinner in a HUGE air conditioned tent. I was told it took them 2 weeks to set up the tent, if that tells you anything about the size of it. After we had a traditional Kugel walk (the Kugel is a globe that weighs about 8 tons at the front of our campus, all new students touch it to symbolize starting our freshman year), and then following that we listened to the President’s welcome.
Saturday was spent with our FOCUS groups (these are orientation groups for Freshman that we have all semester). We literally did so much on Saturday that I have a hard time remembering exactly everything that we did. All I do remember is that I had a blast, and that of course, I met more people (again).
Sunday we had a chapel of sorts with worship and a couple speakers, then we attended breakout sessions where we got to hear from other speakers about differentiated topics. I went to one about being a Godly Woman with some friends, and I really enjoyed it, and also learned a lot about what the bible says (and doesn’t say) about being a woman of God. We had in-n-out for lunch (WOOHOO) and then had a few hours of time to chill, or do whatever before Clash-n-Roll.
Okay. Can I just say. Clash and Roll is by far the most fun I’ve had in a LONG time. We dressed up in the clashiest outfit we could find, played bunco, danced at Christian Coachella, and ate dessert. What could possibly be more fun than that? That’s right, nothing. So here are some pictures that sum up the weekend…hope ya enjoy!
